Sensory Play Edible Finger Paints!

Edible Finger Paint Bambinoliv UK Lifestyle Blog Sensory Play

Today little smoosh and I were having a homey day and after searching Pinterest for ideas on sensory play I saw lots of different recipes for edible finger paints so decided to give one a spin. I scrawled the method down and sent Joe to the shops to get what we needed. It took around 10 minutes to pull together in a saucepan!

Olivia loved her twenty minutes play on the kitchen floor although word to the wise – cover it with an old sheet or kitchen roll (which is what we used). The addition of sugar made it a little more palatable if she ventured it towards her mouth which if I’m honest was about 50% of the time.

I put my bowls of finger paint in the freezer for ten minutes to make sure they cooled down for Olivia to play with.

How to make edible paint!

Combine four tablespoons of sugar, half a cup of cornflour and 2 cups of water in a saucepan.

Heat over a medium heat stirring occasionally until you have ‘custard gloop’.

Divide into separate pots and add food colouring of your choice.

Enjoy the mess!
